Spectators: 7000 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Bernardo Rocha made the kick off which started today's match. 3 minutes into the match, Thiaguera F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Cafu Barral came free, but Marquinhos Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Thiaguera F.C getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Ivo Aguiar hit a great ball. André Luiz Bueno blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marquinhos Cunha having to make a save. Luizinho Baiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 9th match minute, Atlétic Mauhilay AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walmyr Soares to maneuver through the defense. Thiaguera F.C's Marquinhos Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Arantes in the 13th minute of play. After 15 minutes Thiaguera F.C's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Walmyr Soares who took care of the corner kick. Antonio Mel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marquinhos Cunha having to interfere. 19 minutes into the match, Cafu Barral had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marquinhos Cunha. Thiaguera F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cafu Barral was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Marquinhos Cunha was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cafu Barral showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 23 minute of play. Cafu Barral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Marquinhos Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Antonio Mel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ricardo Arantes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Marquinhos Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Antonio Mel to make the kick off. Cafu Barral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Marquinhos Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Ricardo Arantes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marquinhos Cunha was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. When Ricardo Arantes came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Atlétic Mauhilay AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ricardo Arantes couldn't finish the play. In the 66th minute, Ricardo Arantes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atlétic Mauhilay AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. After a defensive mix-up in Thiaguera F.C's zone, Antonio Mel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marquinhos Cunha came out of the goal and Antonio Mel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Afonso Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Marquinhos Cunha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Antonio Mel's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Ricardo Arantes struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Marquinhos Cunha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlétic Mauhilay AD. Atlétic Mauhilay AD's Cafu Barral got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ivo Aguiar kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. After having played for 78 minutes, Aírton Pinheiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlétic Mauhilay AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aírton Pinheiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 84th minute Dráuzio Bertassi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marquinhos Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cafu Barral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Marquinhos Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ricardo Arantes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marquinhos Cunha came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Atlétic Mauhilay AD's Ricardo Arantes. But to his dismay, Ricardo Arantes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Tadeu Guedes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardo Rocha in the 97th minute of play. There was no doubt that Atlétic Mauhilay AD were the better team. Atlétic Mauhilay AD's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
