When Mazinho Severo came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Prazeres fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mazinho Severo couldn't finish the play. In the 5th minute João Pedro Neto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodriguinho Gaspar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Zé Augusto de Andrade put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Silvinho Custódio. 16 minutes into the game, Prazeres's Chicão Chaves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rodriguinho Gaspar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Prazeres reached it. Juninho Godoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvinho Custódio having to interfere. Rodriguinho Gaspar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. João Pedro Neto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Rodriguinho Gaspar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute, João Pedro Neto made a precise shot to the right of Rodriguinho Gaspar. Preguica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. The Preguica players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Prazeres were winning 1-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chicão Chaves was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Preguica's zone, João Pedro Neto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodriguinho Gaspar came out of the goal and João Pedro Neto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Silvinho Custódio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juninho Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gino Queirós in the 76th minute of play forced Prazeres's goalkeeper Silvinho Custódio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chicão Chaves struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Rodriguinho Gaspar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Prazeres. In the 87th minute Zé Augusto de Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvinho Custódio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chicão Chaves might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rodriguinho Gaspar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Chicão Chaves ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Prazeres's Amadeu Baptista got a free kick in the 91st minute. In the 92nd minute of the match Luís Albuquerque sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Silvinho Custódio skillfully saved the ball. Zé Augusto de Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Prazeres eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
