Rui Leite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Vides having to interfere. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rui Leite stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Adilson Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ponta EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Adilson Araújo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Umberto Cunha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. AGF 22 de Janeiro's Umberto Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adilson Araújo in the 93rd minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, Adilson Araújo notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of AGF 22 de Janeiro's Umberto Cunha. Umberto Cunha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ponta EC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
