Diogo Souto struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Danilo Paraibano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Uruguai. Danilo Paraibano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dé Aguiar in the 10th minute of the match. Valdo Vander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danilo Paraibano having to interfere. Danilo Paraibano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdo Vander in the 23rd minute of play. Wellington Ramos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre de Queirós, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Valdo Vander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 30thth minute of the game Alexandre de Queirós who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Deportivo Uruguai's Wellington Ramos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 36 played minutes Mariri got a freekick which was hit by Perivaldo Esteves. After 37 played minutes, Deportivo Uruguai's Dorival Pimenta shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Danilo Paraibano came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Deportivo Uruguai reached it. With an all-out effort, Mariri's Wellington Ramos threw himself towards the right post 43 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alexandre de Queirós, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, Mariri's Rafael Silveira got a free kick in the 47th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Valdo Vander made a kick off. If Yuri Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 54th minute, Deportivo Uruguai's Dé Aguiar ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Danilo Paraibano. Danilo Paraibano yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. 58 minutes into the game, Mariri's Alexandre de Queirós nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wellington Ramos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Ramiro Netto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Oséias Souza charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Oséias Souza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dé Aguiar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Danilo Paraibano made a huge save. Wellington Ramos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramiro Netto in the 87th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Alexandre de Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mariri's supporters rose to their feet, but Alexandre de Queirós was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wellington Ramos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
