Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fabiano Marques in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Renan Montenegro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Jacuipense's zone, Augusto Ramos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Humberto Corrêa came out of the goal and Augusto Ramos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A hard and well directed shot from Gonçalo Paranaense led 22 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Jacuipense's Humberto Corrêa became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 0-1. 27 minutes into the game, St. Katherine s Docks's Robinho Sarmento nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Humberto Corrêa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 32nd minute, Augusto Ramos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, St. Katherine s Docks's Matías Moreno got a free kick in the 39th minute. Renan Montenegro made an important save on a dangerous shot by David Sarmento in the 40th minute. St. Katherine s Docks's Renan Montenegro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save St. Katherine s Docks from getting a goal against them. If Ediberto Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jacuipense's Humberto Corrêa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augusto Ramos in the 48th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Robinho Sarmento to make the kick off. Renan Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moisés Cerezo in the 51st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moisés Cerezo in the 52nd minute of play forced St. Katherine s Docks's goalkeeper Renan Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Fabiano Marques put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Renan Montenegro. In the 57th match minute, St. Katherine s Docks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Gustavo Reis to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabiano Marques in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Renan Montenegro saved St. Katherine s Docks from getting behind. After 93 minutes, Fabiano Marques made it 4-3 with a short kick to the right side. St. Katherine s Docks's Renan Montenegro tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. There was no doubt that Jacuipense were the better team. Jacuipense's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
