Costa Rica Esporte Clube's Danilo Arce proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica Esporte Clube from getting a goal against them. 10 minutes into the match, St. Katherine s Docks's goal looked a bit too open when Tarcisio Arce came free, but Renan Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If José Pedro Mangueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 16th minute José Pedro Mangueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renan Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th match minute, Costa Rica Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Toninho Paranaense to maneuver through the defense. St. Katherine s Docks's Renan Montenegro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tarcisio Arce in the 21st minute of play. Tarcisio Arce recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If José Pedro Mangueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Robinho Sarmento fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored St. Katherine s Docks's protests and gave Robinho Sarmento a yellow card for diving instead. In the 28th minute, Robinho Sarmento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Costa Rica Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Dito Simões hit a great ball. In the 30th minute, Toninho Paranaense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tarcisio Arce scored 0-1 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Renan Montenegro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in St. Katherine s Docks's zone, Tarcisio Arce stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Renan Montenegro came out of the goal and Tarcisio Arce tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for José Pedro Mangueira to strike the kick off in the second half. If Tarcisio Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Renan Montenegro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tarcisio Arce in the 55th minute. In the 55th minute, Augusto Ramos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Geovânio Ramalho's late challenge caught a St. Katherine s Docks's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Geovânio Ramalho helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica Esporte Clube's Geovânio Ramalho got a free kick in the 58th minute. The supporters of Costa Rica Esporte Clube booed when St. Katherine s Docks was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Guilherme Pereira didn't get a good kick on the ball. José Pedro Mangueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Renan Montenegro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Pedro Mangueira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. In the 71st minute, Augusto Ramos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 76 in the game by Tarcisio Arce from a close distance when the talented Renan Montenegro managed to make a qualified save. St. Katherine s Docks's players were relieved. When Arthur Albuquerque fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored St. Katherine s Docks's protests and gave Arthur Albuquerque a yellow card for diving instead. Tarcisio Arce might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Renan Montenegro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tarcisio Arce ran back to his position shaking his head. The St. Katherine s Docks fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Costa Rica Esporte Clube were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
