Juvenal Rezende sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juvenal Rezende recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Charles Correia fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Antares's protests and gave Charles Correia a yellow card for diving instead. Charles Correia hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Sandro Falcão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldão Andrade having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sandro Falcão to make the kick off. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Laranjal's Juvenal Rezende in the 74th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but José Augusto Koehler was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for SC Antares through an amazing save. 75 minutes into the game, Hamílton Fantini was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Antares's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Laranjal the free kick. In the 75th match minute, SC Antares was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hamílton Fantini to maneuver through the defense. If Sandro Falcão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
