Samuel Martins came out of the goal and Evandro Mandrak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Samuel Martins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evandro Mandrak, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Duarte Saldanha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antônio Carlos Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gláuber Koehler got free with Duarte Saldanha in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Gláuber Koehler managed to get in a good position for a shot. Riachao's supporters rose to their feet, but Gláuber Koehler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Duarte Saldanha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Phantásticos FC's Evandro Mandrak got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Duarte Saldanha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gláuber Koehler in the 42nd minute. When Phantásticos FC's Thomás Mendes, in the 47th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Phantásticos FC. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
