Riachao's Samuel Martins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Paulo Ortiz in the 26th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers João Paulo Ortiz in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Samuel Martins saved Riachao from getting behind. 36 minutes into the match, Riachao's goal looked a bit too open when João Paulo Ortiz came free, but Samuel Martins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Antônio Carlos Costa struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Bruninho Damião didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Riachao. Antônio Carlos Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Riachao's Adrianinho de Carvalho got a free kick in the 47th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for João Paulo Ortiz to strike the kick off in the second half. Riachao's supporters rose to their feet, but Erivaldo Cerezo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bruninho Damião breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 68 minutes into the match, Gláuber Koehler had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bruninho Damião. Macedônia FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gláuber Koehler was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. A collision led to Riachao getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Adrianinho de Carvalho hit a great ball. Samuel Martins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Paulo Ortiz in the 78th minute of play. Antônio Carlos Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Bruninho Damião tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Flávio Marinho took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 91st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bruninho Damião. Macedônia FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Riachao had won after a very even match.
