The Malhadinho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Enrique Pimenta should have stopped the shot. Enrique Pimenta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Umberto Alagoano in the 17th minute of play. If Christiano Ferreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Umberto Alagoano in the 21st minute of play forced Malhadinho's goalkeeper Enrique Pimenta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Enrique Pimenta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Umberto Alagoano, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Enrique Pimenta came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by CRUZEIRO NOTORIUS's Umberto Alagoano. But to his dismay, Umberto Alagoano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Christiano Novaes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Pimenta having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Umberto Alagoano in the 48th minute of play forced Malhadinho's goalkeeper Enrique Pimenta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half CRUZEIRO NOTORIUS were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The referee ignored Malhadinho's protests and gave Christiano Ferreira a yellow card for diving instead. The audience was convinced that Umberto Alagoano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Enrique Pimenta was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. The CRUZEIRO NOTORIUS fans' excitement grew in the 77th match minute when CRUZEIRO NOTORIUS's Umberto Alagoano looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Enrique Pimenta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CRUZEIRO NOTORIUS. Enrique Pimenta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Umberto Alagoano in the 90th minute of play. If Christiano Novaes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Christiano Novaes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. When the final whistle sounded CRUZEIRO NOTORIUS left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Malhadinho.
