Rafinha Fonseca hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Evaristo de Alcântara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Jailson Falcão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Evaristo de Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pituna's supporters rose to their feet, but Evaristo de Alcântara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jailson Falcão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edmílson Aguiar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel da Costa in the 13th minute of the match. Edmílson Aguiar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel da Costa in the 15th minute of play. In the 18th minute Daniel da Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmílson Aguiar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Evaristo de Alcântara came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Pituna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evaristo de Alcântara couldn't finish the play. Jailson Falcão made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Rafinha Fonseca sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Rafinha Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pituna's supporters rose to their feet, but Rafinha Fonseca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jailson Falcão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jairo Ramalho kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Rodrigo Severo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Pituna's Evaristo de Alcântara got a free kick in the 36th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodrigo Severo in the 41st minute of play forced Pituna's goalkeeper Edmílson Aguiar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Pituna booed when Sport Club Corinthians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diguinho Cerezo didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Daniel da Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evaristo de Alcântara in the 58th minute of play forced Sport Club Corinthians's goalkeeper Jailson Falcão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edmílson Aguiar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rodrigo Severo in the 60th minute. Diamantino Paraibano took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edmílson Aguiar. Edmílson Aguiar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. If Evaristo de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sport Club Corinthians's Jailson Falcão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evaristo de Alcântara in the 72nd minute of play. After having played for 76 minutes, Evaristo de Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pituna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evaristo de Alcântara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edmílson Aguiar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rodrigo Severo in the 78th minute. After a rather tough play, Pituna's Rodriguinho Vaz got a free kick in the 81st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Pituna's zone, Rodrigo Severo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edmílson Aguiar came out of the goal and Rodrigo Severo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Sport Club Corinthians had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
