But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diamantino Vides couldn't finish the play. Manuel Melo hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Elói Campidelis struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Giovani Penha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chapecoense. With a little luck, Borussia Juniors's Giovani Penha got control of the ball when Diamantino Vides tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Elói Campidelis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chapecoense's supporters rose to their feet, but Elói Campidelis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giovani Penha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 35 minutes into the match, Diamantino Vides had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Giovani Penha. Borussia Juniors's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Diamantino Vides was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Elói Campidelis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Diamantino Vides made a kick off. Elói Campidelis took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Giovani Penha. Giovani Penha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Elói Campidelis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chapecoense's Elói Campidelis got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 64thth minute of the game Diamantino Vides who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Borussia Juniors's Giovani Penha was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Elói Campidelis scored 3-0 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Giovani Penha, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Pedrão Vargas fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Borussia Juniors's protests and gave Pedrão Vargas a yellow card for diving instead. Pedrão Vargas kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. The supporters of Chapecoense booed when Borussia Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Melo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 83rd minute, Elói Campidelis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Giovani Penha was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0.
