Doriva Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durval Mandrak having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Internacional de Polvilho's Faustão Schmidt got a free kick in the 58th minute. Internacional de Polvilho's Fiori Dionísio got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fiori Dionísio in the 68th minute of play forced Tertuliano's goalkeeper Doriva Quadros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
