Giovani Penha was a little too slow when Evaristo de Alcântara got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 12th minute. The score was now 1-1. Giovani Penha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evaristo de Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Giovani Penha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evaristo de Alcântara in the 24th minute of the match. The supporters of Pituna booed when Borussia Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Melo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Pituna's Edinho Cordeiro got a free kick in the 26th minute. If Rafinha Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 34 minutes into the game, one of Borussia Juniors:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Pituna's Edmílson Aguiar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lino França in the 41st minute of play. In the 46th minute, Serafim Novaes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Giovani Penha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rafinha Fonseca in the 47th minute. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Evaristo de Alcântara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Reginaldo Soeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmílson Aguiar having to interfere. In the 54th minute, Gernando Proença hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Agostinho Machado kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. In the 59th minute of the match Borussia Juniors got a corner. Pituna's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. João Peixoto ran over to the corner to take the kick. Deivid Barbosa hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Pituna's Edmílson Aguiar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Pituna from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Pituna's Rodriguinho Vaz got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Lino França fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmílson Aguiar having to interfere. In the 68th minute Evaristo de Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giovani Penha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 73 minutes into the game, Evaristo de Alcântara cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Giovani Penha was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 80thth minute of the game Evaristo de Alcântara who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Borussia Juniors's Giovani Penha was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Edmílson Aguiar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reginaldo Soeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Borussia Juniors's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
