Medeiros's supporters rose to their feet, but David Duarte was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walter Szczęsny breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Medeiros's Miguel Loureiro got a free kick in the 71st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Medeiros's zone, Marcinho Pinheiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jaime Arantes came out of the goal and Marcinho Pinheiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Victor Coelho came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the MathGus FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Victor Coelho couldn't finish the play. In the 89th minute, Marcinho Pinheiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 96 minutes into the match, Medeiros's goal looked a bit too open when Marcinho Pinheiro came free, but Jaime Arantes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Medeiros succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though MathGus FC had controlled the match.
