An unexpectedly hard shot by Válbson Moura in the 19th minute of play forced TORMENTO MZFC's goalkeeper Andrézinho Mandrak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the TORMENTO MZFC defense, Inácio Munhoz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Andrézinho Mandrak. The TORMENTO MZFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Andrézinho Mandrak should have stopped the shot. Wiliam Novaes's late challenge caught a TORMENTO MZFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wiliam Novaes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 39th minute, one of Soviético FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Soviético FC. In the 41st minute there was a penalty for TORMENTO MZFC. Silvinho Nogueira stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ronaldinho Guedes. 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Didi Oliveira made a kick off.
