The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Serginho Marquez during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Olinto AD booed when Atlético Maneiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serginho Marquez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 9th minute Jailson Saraiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guilherme de Queiroz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flávio Luz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonso Koehler, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Afonso Koehler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Maneiro FC's zone, Cícero Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flávio Luz came out of the goal and Cícero Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Flávio Luz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Afonso Koehler's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Jailson Saraiva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Maneiro FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jailson Saraiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guilherme de Queiroz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jailson Saraiva scored 0-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Guilherme de Queiroz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Guilherme de Queiroz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jailson Saraiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Afonso Koehler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rui Bezerra hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Afonso Koehler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Afonso Koehler to strike the kick off in the second half. When Olinto AD's Cícero Santos in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Flávio Luz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dé Brodel, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. 66 minutes into the match, Atlético Maneiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cícero Santos came free, but Flávio Luz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69th minute, Serginho Marquez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Afonso Koehler took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Flávio Luz. Flávio Luz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. If Afonso Koehler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute, Serginho Marquez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Flávio Luz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cícero Santos in the 98th minute of play. Olinto AD walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
