After some careless play in the Soviético FC defense, Tony Trigo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ronaldinho Guedes. The Soviético FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ronaldinho Guedes should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fabiano Lucas in the 20th minute of play forced Soviético FC's goalkeeper Ronaldinho Guedes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tony Trigo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Ronaldinho Guedes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th match minute, Goiás Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eusébio Silveira to maneuver through the defense. Válbson Moura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Olavo Messias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Válbson Moura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Olavo Messias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Luiz Fabiano Lucas made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th match minute, Goiás Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz França to maneuver through the defense. 58 minutes into the match, Soviético FC's Wiliam Novaes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Olavo Messias narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ronaldinho Guedes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Fabiano Lucas's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Tony Trigo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Ronaldinho Guedes made a huge save. Inácio Munhoz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olavo Messias having to interfere. Luiz Paulo Prado kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. The long shot by Adelino Cardoso in the 80th minute really tested Ronaldinho Guedes's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Goiás Futebol Clube's Olavo Messias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Inácio Munhoz in the 86th minute of play. In the 87th match minute, Goiás Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Paulo Prado to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 92 minutes, Wiliam Novaes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Soviético FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wiliam Novaes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Goiás Futebol Clube players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Soviético FC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
