Spectators: 7254 (Terracing: 5442, Seating: 1668, VIP seats: 144) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Rafael Gaúcho started the match with the kick off. In the 4th minute, Erasmo Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rafael Gaúcho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 8 minutes into the match, Digão SC's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Gaúcho came free, but Jerônimo Pimenta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rafael Gaúcho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Digão SC booed when PODEROSO LEAO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dalmo Brodel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Horácio Velloso was a little too slow when Joaquim Munhoz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 15th minute. The score was now 1-0. Joaquim Munhoz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Horácio Velloso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. A hard shot 22 in the game by Jaime Brito from a close distance when the talented Horácio Velloso managed to make a qualified save. PODEROSO LEAO's players were relieved. If Durval Neto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joaquim Munhoz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horácio Velloso having to interfere. In the 33rd minute Joaquim Munhoz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horácio Velloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joaquim Munhoz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Horácio Velloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Horácio Velloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquim Munhoz, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. The supporters of PODEROSO LEAO booed when Digão SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cláudio Valladares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Digão SC's Jerônimo Pimenta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anderson Goiano in the 44th minute of play. In the 46th play minute Jaime Brito came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Horácio Velloso. 2-0.

The wind increased when Joaquim Munhoz made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Jaime Brito had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Horácio Velloso. PODEROSO LEAO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jaime Brito was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Rafael Gaúcho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tadeu Palmeira got free with Jerônimo Pimenta in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joaquim Munhoz in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Horácio Velloso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Frédson Velasco charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Frédson Velasco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Digão SC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Frédson Velasco hit a great ball. In the 75th minute Joaquim Munhoz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horácio Velloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Joaquim Munhoz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Digão SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Joaquim Munhoz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Horácio Velloso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in PODEROSO LEAO's zone, Joaquim Munhoz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Horácio Velloso came out of the goal and Joaquim Munhoz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee ended the match the Digão SC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
