The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 9 minutes into the game, Frédson Mendes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tupi F.C. JF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Digão SC the free kick. Frédson Mendes hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Jaime Britos short, quick shot in the 12thth minute got Ezequiel Vides to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 13 minutes into the game, Tupi F.C. JF's Kaká Souza nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jerônimo Pimenta made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After having played for 20 minutes, Kaká Souza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tupi F.C. JF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kaká Souza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. César Fernandes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Jerônimo Pimenta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Flavinho Munhoz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Digão SC's Alfredão Jacinto got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tupi F.C. JF's goalkeeper Ezequiel Vides, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kaká Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerônimo Pimenta having to interfere. Digão SC's Jaime Brito got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Digão SC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Tupi F.C. JF were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Joaquim Munhoz made the kick off in the second half. Jerônimo Pimenta was a little too slow when César Fernandes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 52nd minute. The score was now 0-2. A collision led to Tupi F.C. JF getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Frédson Mendes hit a great ball. Jaime Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Flavinho Munhoz fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tupi F.C. JF's protests and gave Flavinho Munhoz a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Tupi F.C. JF's Flavinho Munhoz got a free kick in the 61st minute. Cláudio Valladares, 62 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tupi F.C. JF's goalkeeper Ezequiel Vides, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 66th minute, Joaquim Munhoz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ezequiel Vides was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. 76 minutes into the match, Tupi F.C. JF's César Fernandes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jerônimo Pimenta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tupi F.C. JF's Flavinho Munhoz got his second yellow card of the match in the 80th minute. The referee ordered Flavinho Munhoz off the ground. A collision led to Tupi F.C. JF getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Flavinho Munhoz hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joaquim Munhoz in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ezequiel Vides prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Joaquim Munhoz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ezequiel Vides having to interfere.
