The referee ignored Cavalo Sem Freio's protests and gave Marco Paraibano a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of PODEROSO LEAO booed when Cavalo Sem Freio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Paraibano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cavalo Sem Freio's Marcus de Sena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Cavalo Sem Freio from getting a goal against them. In the 9th minute of the match, Rafael Gaúcho tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Marcus de Sena saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Cavalo Sem Freio's Marcus de Sena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Cavalo Sem Freio from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Gaúcho in the 13th minute of play forced Cavalo Sem Freio's goalkeeper Marcus de Sena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcus de Sena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dalmo Brodel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcus de Sena made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Júlio Lima sent off a good shot on target. Marcus de Sena was a little too slow when Rafael Gaúcho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 18th minute. The score was now 1-0. 26 minutes into the game, Tadeu Palmeira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Marcus de Sena was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cavalo Sem Freio's Marcus de Sena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dalmo Brodel in the 29th minute of play. Tadeu Palmeira's late challenge caught a Cavalo Sem Freio's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tadeu Palmeira helped the player get up and apologised. Tadeu Palmeira kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Horácio Velloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rogério do Valle, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. After 39 minutes of play PODEROSO LEAO's Tadeu Palmeira was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. When Rafael Gaúcho came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the PODEROSO LEAO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafael Gaúcho couldn't finish the play. In the 48th minute Rui Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horácio Velloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Frank Camargo made a kick off. Rogério do Valle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horácio Velloso having to interfere. Rafael Gaúcho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus de Sena having to interfere. In the 66th match minute, PODEROSO LEAO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felipe Cardozo to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tales Passos during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tales Passos kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. If Rogério do Valle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 73 minutes into the match, Cavalo Sem Freio's Rogério do Valle sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Horácio Velloso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Tales Passos was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 75 minutes had been played. Tales Passos kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Frank Camargo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Anselmo Peres came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Cavalo Sem Freio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anselmo Peres couldn't finish the play. After having played for 90 minutes, Rogério do Valle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cavalo Sem Freio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rogério do Valle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcus de Sena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júlio Lima in the 92nd minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Cavalo Sem Freio players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for PODEROSO LEAO.
