The referee ignored Salgueirón FC's protests and gave Horácio Diniz a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Salgueirón FC getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Horácio Diniz hit a great ball. Ricardinho Meira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laerte Siqueira got free with Ulysses Sabóia in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. SANTACRUZENSE's Ricardinho Meira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tales Corrêa in the 10th minute of play. Ricardinho Meira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tales Corrêa in the 12th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deivid Valladares in the 13th minute of play forced Salgueirón FC's goalkeeper Ulysses Sabóia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 1-0 became the score in the 16th minute when Augusto Custódio elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. With a little luck, Salgueirón FC's Ulysses Sabóia got control of the ball when Augusto Custódio tried to sneak it across the goal line. SANTACRUZENSE's Ricardinho Meira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gonçalo Ferreira in the 20th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Salgueirón FC's goalkeeper Ulysses Sabóia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fábio Arce. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emerson Tróia in the 23rd minute of play forced SANTACRUZENSE's goalkeeper Ricardinho Meira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deivid Valladares in the 25th minute of play forced Salgueirón FC's goalkeeper Ulysses Sabóia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Laerte Siqueira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Ulysses Sabóia made a huge save. Ulysses Sabóia was out of position in the 29 minute of play, and Deivid Valladares capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Deivid Valladares really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. In the 34th minute, SANTACRUZENSE's Deivid Valladares ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ulysses Sabóia. Ulysses Sabóia yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Ulysses Sabóia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laerte Siqueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Laerte Siqueira could shoot a difficult shot in the 47th minute, which Ulysses Sabóia however easily saved by the left post. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Deivid Valladares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, SANTACRUZENSE's Deivid Valladares got a free kick in the 51st minute. The supporters of Salgueirón FC booed when SANTACRUZENSE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laerte Siqueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Emerson Tróia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 58 minutes into the match, Salgueirón FC's goal looked a bit too open when Laerte Siqueira came free, but Ulysses Sabóia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 58 minutes into the game, SANTACRUZENSE's Laerte Siqueira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ulysses Sabóia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. After 63 minutes, Fábio Arce mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SANTACRUZENSE and the Salgueirón FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fábio Arce kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. In the 65th minute Salgueirón FC were awarded a corner. Lucas Castro went to the cornerflag to take it. Ulysses Sabóia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laerte Siqueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ricardinho Meira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emerson Tróia in the 72nd minute. If Emerson Tróia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. David Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardinho Meira having to interfere. David Queiroz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 91 minutes, Augusto Custódio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SANTACRUZENSE and the Salgueirón FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, SANTACRUZENSE's Augusto Custódio got a free kick in the 91st minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The SANTACRUZENSE fans cheered their team off the field, for while Salgueirón FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
