Telmo Sanches fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Célio Sena having to interfere. In the 9th minute Telmo Sanches shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Célio Sena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vitório Ceresso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alex Reis hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. After 16 minutes, Wellington Tasso made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Itapiru's Emanuel Coutinho tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Salgueiro's goalkeeper Célio Sena, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Wellington Tasso hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Telmo Sanches blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Célio Sena having to make a save. The Salgueiro fans' excitement grew in the 45th match minute when Salgueiro's Wellington Tasso looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wellington Tasso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Wellington Tasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A sloppy throw-in by Dorian Messias in the 55th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Salgueiro's Allan Batista. 63 minutes into the match, Itapiru's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Borges came free, but Emanuel Coutinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute, Arlindo Gomes made a precise shot to the right of Emanuel Coutinho. Itapiru's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. In the 72nd minute, Salgueiro's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Telmo Sanches fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 75thth minute of the game Wellington Tasso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Itapiru's Emanuel Coutinho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 75 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Wellington Tasso sped through Itapiru's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Emanuel Coutinho. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wellington Tasso in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emanuel Coutinho saved Itapiru from getting behind. Alex Reis was shown his second yellow card after 79 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 79th minute, Alex Reis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wellington Tasso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emanuel Coutinho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. Manuel Borges might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emanuel Coutinho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Manuel Borges ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Salgueiro's Arlindo Gomes got a free kick in the 85th minute. Vitório Ceresso's late challenge caught a Salgueiro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vitório Ceresso helped the player get up and apologised. After 90 played minutes Itapiru got a freekick which was hit by Vitório Ceresso. When the match clock showed 92 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Wellington Tasso sped through Itapiru's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Emanuel Coutinho. Salgueiro's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
