Sherwood's defense didn't have a chance, in the 4th minute, when Luís Fernando da Silveira scored to the left of an out of position Percy Vasconcelos, making the score, 1-0. In the 8th minute, Gláuber Maia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Adeus Metallica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Manuel Bittencourt during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 11 played minutes Sherwood got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Bittencourt. Luiz Gustavo Brodel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. César Cavalcante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Adeus Metallica's zone, Zézinho Furtado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. César Cavalcante came out of the goal and Zézinho Furtado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zézinho Furtado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luiz Gustavo Brodel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without César Cavalcante having to interfere. After 21 minutes, Sérgio do Nascimento mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Adeus Metallica and the Sherwood players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sérgio do Nascimento hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Zézinho Furtado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without César Cavalcante having to interfere. When Francisco Mangueira fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Adeus Metallica's protests and gave Francisco Mangueira a yellow card for diving instead. In the 29th match minute, Adeus Metallica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisco Mangueira to maneuver through the defense. An unexpected shot in the 37th minute by Sérgio do Nascimento got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The supporters of Adeus Metallica booed when Sherwood was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Vargas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 46 minutes Sherwood's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Edu Hermes who took care of the corner kick. Luís Fernando da Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulo Bueno stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luiz Gustavo Brodel struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. César Cavalcante didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sherwood. If Luís Fernando da Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 73 minutes, César Cavalcante successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Afonsinho Munhoz's late challenge caught a Adeus Metallica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Afonsinho Munhoz helped the player get up and apologised. Afonsinho Munhoz hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. When Paulo Bueno came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Adeus Metallica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Bueno couldn't finish the play. After 85 played minutes Sherwood got a freekick which was hit by Igor Vargas. Percy Vasconcelos came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Adeus Metallica's Luís Fernando da Silveira. But to his dismay, Luís Fernando da Silveira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Adeus Metallica's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
