An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Valladares in the 24th minute of play forced Ananindeua's goalkeeper Josué Luz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Pedro Valladares came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Red Crabs FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Valladares couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Ananindeua booed when Red Crabs FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Doriva Linhares didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Ananindeua fans' excitement grew in the 31st match minute when Ananindeua's Oswaldo Leal looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 44 minutes into the game, Ananindeua's Oswaldo Leal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Evandro Lopes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. A collision led to Red Crabs FC getting a freekick after 49 minutes play. Percival Cunha hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Evandro Lopes came out of the goal and Waldemar Albuquerque tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emílio Almeida kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. 93 minutes into the game, Percival Cunha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ananindeua walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
