Dragon Ball Z's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristóvão das Neves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 7 minutes, Gilberto Mello mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dragon Ball Z and the Asilo das velhas obesas players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 8th minute, Gilberto Mello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vicente Moreno charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vicente Moreno the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 13 minutes into the match, Cristóvão das Neves notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Asilo das velhas obesas's Marquinhos Abreu. Marquinhos Abreu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A long shot from Tadeu Secco in the 16th minute of play was well struck, but Marquinhos Abreu made a really good save at the right post. In the 20th minute, Cristóvão das Neves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Célio Couto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marquinhos Abreu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. In the 25th minute, Cristóvão das Neves ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marquinhos Abreu was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Vicente Moreno hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Marquinhos Abreu made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Cristóvão das Neves sent off a good shot on target. Valdemar Prado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kléberson Reis having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Célio Couto was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Dragon Ball Z was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Doni Gaúcho to maneuver through the defense. Marquinhos Abreu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Célio Couto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Asilo das velhas obesas's zone, Célio Couto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marquinhos Abreu came out of the goal and Célio Couto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Valdemar Prado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Asilo das velhas obesas's supporters rose to their feet, but Valdemar Prado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kléberson Reis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 70th match minute, Dragon Ball Z was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Doni Gaúcho to maneuver through the defense. When Gilberto Mello was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 79 minutes had been played. The supporters of Asilo das velhas obesas booed when Dragon Ball Z was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilberto Mello didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clóvis Tinoco was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 81st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The supporters of Asilo das velhas obesas booed when Dragon Ball Z was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tadeu Secco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dragon Ball Z's Cristóvão das Neves got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Doni Gaúcho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marquinhos Abreu having to interfere. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Asilo das velhas obesas's goalkeeper Marquinhos Abreu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Asilo das velhas obesas's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
