To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 60 played minutes Ermo EC got a freekick which was hit by Aírton Paulista. Edmílson Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 68th match minute, Ermo EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jarbas Salgado to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 71 minutes, Gualter Schmidt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Da Matta E.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Gualter Schmidt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 77th minute, Gualter Schmidt reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ricardinho Abreu. The goal made the score 0-1. Da Matta E.C.'s Edmílson Cruz got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
