Bitumirim EC's Alfredo Senna proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Bitumirim EC from getting a goal against them. In the 21st minute, Paulão Pimenta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Romário Favoretto came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Bitumirim EC's Alexandre Luz. But to his dismay, Alexandre Luz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Jefferson Nóbrega kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. If Osvaldinho Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfredo Senna stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tarcisio Sena's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Rogério Monteiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 38 minutes into the match, Bitumirim EC's goalkeeper Alfredo Senna had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Osvaldinho Mello. Osvaldinho Mello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alexandre Luz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Romário Favoretto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexandre Luz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Romário Favoretto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Alexandre Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Urubuzada's Romário Favoretto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rogério Monteiro in the 88th minute of play. After some careless play in the Bitumirim EC defense, Osvaldinho Mello kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alfredo Senna. The Bitumirim EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alfredo Senna should have stopped the shot. Alfredo Senna didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tarcisio Sena went, in the 98th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Bitumirim EC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
