Carlos Alberto Neves didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Abel Melo went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Augusto Quadros in the 17th minute of play forced Montana EC's goalkeeper Carlos Alberto Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes in the game, Abel Melo fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Carlos Alberto Neves having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Augusto Quadros in the 20th minute of play forced Montana EC's goalkeeper Carlos Alberto Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If João Augusto Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Alberto Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Augusto Quadros in the 30th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kléber Breckenfeld during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A hard shot 46 in the game by Abel Melo from a close distance when the talented Carlos Alberto Neves managed to make a qualified save. Montana EC's players were relieved. João Augusto Quadros struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Carlos Alberto Neves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Thomar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cícero de Queiroz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Carlos Alberto Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Augusto Quadros in the 53rd minute of the match. Abel Melo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Alberto Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Augusto Quadros in the 56th minute of play. After having played for 61 minutes, Manoel Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Thomar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manoel Fonseca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 68th minute, João Augusto Quadros ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carlos Alberto Neves was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. João Augusto Quadros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Alberto Neves having to interfere. Abel Melo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Carlos Alberto Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Augusto Quadros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Thomar fully deserved thier win.
