Spectators: 6649 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1649, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Dinei Vaz made the kick off which started today's match. After 2 played minutes Correntina got a freekick which was hit by Alexsandro Cruz. In the 7thth minute of the game Dinei Vaz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Correntina's Sérgio da Silveira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hernani Linares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Edgard do Vale made a huge save. Ypatinga FC's Edgard do Vale proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Ypatinga FC from getting a goal against them. After having played for 13 minutes, Samuca Cordeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ypatinga FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Samuca Cordeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Carlos Fernando Albuquerque came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Correntina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Fernando Albuquerque couldn't finish the play. Hernani Linares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edgard do Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Fernando Albuquerque, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. If Hernani Linares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dinei Vaz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hernani Linares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgard do Vale having to interfere. A collision led to Correntina getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Ian Amorim hit a great ball. In the 49th minute of the match Otávio Furtado sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sérgio da Silveira skillfully saved the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Edgard do Vale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cipriano Vargas in the 55th minute of the match. Edgard do Vale stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hernani Linares's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Luisão Travassos hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. 60 minutes into the game, Cipriano Vargas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Edgard do Vale was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ypatinga FC's Edgard do Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hernani Linares in the 64th minute of play. Edgard do Vale didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hernani Linares went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Correntina's Carlos Fernando Albuquerque got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cipriano Vargas kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Ypatinga FC's Edgard do Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Fernando Albuquerque in the 72nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Hernani Linares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edgard do Vale was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Samuca Cordeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sérgio da Silveira having to interfere. Carlos Fernando Albuquerque received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Edgard do Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hernani Linares in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edgard do Vale saved Ypatinga FC from getting behind. Hermínio Teixeira struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Sérgio da Silveira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ypatinga FC. Carlos Fernando Albuquerque received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Edgard do Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Samuca Cordeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Sérgio da Silveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ypatinga FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
