Spectators: 5004 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 4) Ypatinga FC's Dinei Vaz started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Pedrinho Britto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edgard do Vale stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pedrinho Britto's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. In the 9th of the match, Dinei Vaz tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Marcelo Schmidt got in the way and made a wonderful save. Edgard do Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedrinho Britto, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. After having played for 13 minutes, Válter Toledo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Iuna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Válter Toledo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 15 minutes into the match, Ypatinga FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrinho Britto came free, but Edgard do Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ypatinga FC's Edgard do Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Válter Toledo in the 17th minute of play. If Válter Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute, Samuca Cordeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Dinei Vaz came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Ypatinga FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dinei Vaz couldn't finish the play. Ypatinga FC's Edgard do Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedrinho Britto in the 27th minute of play. Pedrinho Britto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Edgard do Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedrinho Britto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Iuna booed when Ypatinga FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luisão Travassos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 42nd minute, Carlos Alberto de Salles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Pedrinho Britto made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Válter Toledo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Samuca Cordeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Samuca Cordeiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcelo Schmidt. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Samuca Cordeiro ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee gave Iuna a penalty, 66 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Virgílio Aguiar, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ypatinga FC's Edgard do Vale. 0-1. If Pedrinho Britto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iuna's Válter Toledo got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With his leg Edgard do Vale managed to avoid a goal in the 74thth minute, when Iuna's Válter Toledo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Válter Toledo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgard do Vale having to interfere. 80 minutes into the match, Ypatinga FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrinho Britto came free, but Edgard do Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edgard do Vale was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Pedrinho Britto showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 83 minute of play. When Válter Toledo came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Iuna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Válter Toledo couldn't finish the play. In the 92nd minute, Hermínio Teixeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edgard do Vale acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 93rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Virgílio Aguiar. Edgard do Vale made an important save on a dangerous shot by Válter Toledo in the 94th minute. When the match was over Iuna could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ypatinga FC throughout the match.
