Spectators: 6671 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1671, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jonas Messias started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Cancela booed when Zico F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kléberson Pereira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonas Messias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dino de Toledo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Carlos Rezende, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Zé Paulo Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 13th match minute, Zico F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kléberson Pereira to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Cancela getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Zé Carlos Rezende hit a great ball. The nice shot from Allan Silva in the 17thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Marcinho da Silva had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Caio Catarinense hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Allan Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcinho da Silva having to interfere. When Allan Silva came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Zico F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Allan Silva couldn't finish the play. After the first half Cancela were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

51 minutes into the game, Cancela's Luiz Gustavo Queiroz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dino de Toledo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Dino de Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonas Messias in the 55th minute of play. 58 minutes into the game, Luiz Gustavo Queiroz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cancela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zico F.C the free kick. In the 58th match minute, Cancela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Gustavo Queiroz to maneuver through the defense. Allan Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Marcinho da Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 74 minutes, Allan Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zico F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Allan Silva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 83rd minute Jailson Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcinho da Silva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cancela's Zé Paulo Lima got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Cancela defense, Jailson Seco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcinho da Silva. The Cancela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcinho da Silva should have stopped the shot. Jerônimo Arantes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 95th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marcinho da Silva. Cancela's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Allan Silva in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcinho da Silva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Cancela had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
