Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Cerobas FC's Toninho Lucas started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Wellington Aguiars short, quick shot in the 10thth minute got Ramiro Monteiro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Diguinho Coelho came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Grêmio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diguinho Coelho couldn't finish the play. Wellington Aguiar who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 13thth minute tested the skills of Ramiro Monteiro when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Cerobas FC's Ramiro Monteiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aílton Pitta in the 15th minute of play. After 16 played minutes Cerobas FC got a freekick which was hit by Hélio Gerber. Aílton Pitta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramiro Monteiro having to interfere. In the 20th minute, Wellington Aguiar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ramiro Monteiro made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Wellington Aguiar sent off a good shot on target. In the 41st minute, Adrianinho Ceresso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aílton Pitta was the one to do the kick off. After 52 played minutes Cerobas FC got a freekick which was hit by Dário Freire. 55 minutes into the match, Cerobas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Aílton Pitta came free, but Ramiro Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wellington Aguiar in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ramiro Monteiro saved Cerobas FC from getting behind. Aílton Pitta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Felipe Peres hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. The supporters of Cerobas FC booed when Grêmio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandrinho de Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 73rd minute, Sandrinho de Brito had to leave the field with a concussion. Hélio Gerber's late challenge caught a Grêmio's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hélio Gerber helped the player get up and apologised. In the 74th match minute, Cerobas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hélio Gerber to maneuver through the defense. Wellington Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 79th minute Wellington Aguiar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramiro Monteiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, Cerobas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wellington Aguiar came free, but Ramiro Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Diguinho Coelho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ramiro Monteiro was relentless in the 87th minute of the game.
