Spectators: 7303 (Terracing: 5478, Seating: 1680, VIP seats: 145) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Anibal Eguerdi kicked off to start the match. After recieving a nice pass, MAXiminos's Abelardo Rosado tried to score from far away in the 7th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Elano Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 13th minute, Elano Torres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the MARANATA defense, José Pedro Meirelles kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Armandinho Secco. The MARANATA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Armandinho Secco should have stopped the shot. If José Pedro Meirelles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind MARANATA's goalkeeper Armandinho Secco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 20th minute, Elano Torres made a precise shot to the right of Armandinho Secco. MARANATA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Anibal Eguerdi's late challenge caught a MAXiminos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anibal Eguerdi helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of MAXiminos booed when MARANATA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anibal Eguerdi didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Pedro Meirelles in the 29th minute of play forced MARANATA's goalkeeper Armandinho Secco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpected shot in the 31st minute by Anibal Eguerdi got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dênis do Nascimento in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cesinha Vieira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cesinha Vieira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matías Terra in the 36th minute of the match. If Elano Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half MAXiminos were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when José Pedro Meirelles made the kick off in the second half. Elano Torres could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Armandinho Secco made a huge save. Dário Prado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesinha Vieira having to interfere. After a rather tough play, MARANATA's Matías Terra got a free kick in the 55th minute. Armandinho Secco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Pedro Meirelles in the 59th minute of play. Cesinha Vieira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anibal Eguerdi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 64th minute, Matías Terra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 66th minute, Anibal Eguerdi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. José Pedro Meirelles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dário Prado kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. In the 73rd match minute, MARANATA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dênis do Nascimento to maneuver through the defense. José Pedro Meirelles blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Armandinho Secco having to make a save. Cesinha Vieira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anibal Eguerdi in the 81st minute of the match. Anibal Eguerdi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cesinha Vieira came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by MARANATA's Luís Fabiano Falcão. But to his dismay, Luís Fabiano Falcão quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Elano Torres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. MAXiminos had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
