The Lunáticos Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Delfim Pena should have stopped the shot. Alberto Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 25th minute of the match, Alberto Santana tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Delfim Pena saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Lunáticos Clube's Delfim Pena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Lunáticos Clube from getting a goal against them. Percy Britto's late challenge caught a Ayapua's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Percy Britto helped the player get up and apologised. In the 30th match minute, Lunáticos Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Percy Britto to maneuver through the defense. Alessandro Berger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Delfim Pena having to interfere. When Zé Paulo Severo came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Lunáticos Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Paulo Severo couldn't finish the play. Lunáticos Clube's Zé Paulo Severo got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 81st minute, Benê Sá hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Percy Britto succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 82nd playminute. Delfim Pena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Santana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amadeu Freitas was shown his second yellow card after 87 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 90th minute there was a penalty for Ayapua. Sílvio Luiz Koehler stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Delfim Pena. 3-1. Lunáticos Clube's Zé Paulo Severo got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Ayapua's Dorival Vasconcelos got control of the ball when Percy Britto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lunáticos Clube's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Ayapua had won, even though Lunáticos Clube had held more of the ball.
