After a rather tough play, Zico F.C's Alberto Reis got a free kick in the 37th minute. When Luís Fabiano Falcão fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MARANATA's protests and gave Luís Fabiano Falcão a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Zico F.C booed when MARANATA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Fabiano Falcão didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 45 minutes, Dário Prado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MARANATA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dário Prado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

MARANATA's Armandinho Secco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jailson Seco in the 54th minute of play. Jailson Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armandinho Secco having to interfere. Anibal Eguerdi kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Zico F.C's Elói Quintal tried to score from far away in the 61st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 62nd match minute, MARANATA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anibal Eguerdi to maneuver through the defense. Armandinho Secco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jailson Seco in the 63rd minute of the match. Allan Silva who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 80thth minute tested the skills of Armandinho Secco when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Allan Silva might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Armandinho Secco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Allan Silva ran back to his position shaking his head. Armandinho Secco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jailson Seco in the 83rd minute of play. Anibal Eguerdi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Dino de Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anibal Eguerdi took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dino de Toledo. Dino de Toledo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Zico F.C's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
