After a defensive mix-up in H.Vianna Soccer Team's zone, Jailson Reis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Carlos Branco came out of the goal and Jailson Reis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to H.Vianna Soccer Team getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Zeca Santana hit a great ball. H.Vianna Soccer Team's Zé Carlos Branco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tarcisio Barral in the 12th minute of play. Jailson Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Hudson Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Silvério Melo fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mattosinhos's protests and gave Silvério Melo a yellow card for diving instead. Jailson Reis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Carlos Branco having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, Mattosinhos's goal looked a bit too open when Júnior Barral came free, but Frank Camargo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hudson Tepedino made a kick off. H.Vianna Soccer Team's Hudson Tepedino got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hudson Tepedino might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Frank Camargo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hudson Tepedino ran back to his position shaking his head. Frank Camargo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hudson Tepedino, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Zé Carlos Branco came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Mattosinhos's Jailson Reis. But to his dismay, Jailson Reis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Júnior Barral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Frank Camargo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of H.Vianna Soccer Team booed when Mattosinhos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christiano Salles didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to H.Vianna Soccer Team getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Cacá de Sena hit a great ball. Cacá de Sena kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. In the 77th minute, Jailson Reis made a precise shot to the right of Zé Carlos Branco. H.Vianna Soccer Team's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Tarcisio Barral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Christiano Salles charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Christiano Salles the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. H.Vianna Soccer Team's Hudson Tepedino managed to work through Mattosinhos's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Hudson Tepedino dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. If Hudson Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Mattosinhos fans cheered their team off the field, for while H.Vianna Soccer Team had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
