Hudson Tepedino started the match with the kick off. Júnior Barral's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Oséas Messias read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. After some careless play in the Pindai defense, Júnior Barral kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oséas Messias. The Pindai fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oséas Messias should have stopped the shot. Zé Carlos Branco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Germano Alagoano, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After 19 minutes, Christian Matorin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pindai and the H.Vianna Soccer Team players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Pindai's Christian Matorin got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 21st minute of the match Cacá de Sena shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Oséas Messias showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Júnior Barral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oséas Messias having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, H.Vianna Soccer Team's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Nunes came free, but Zé Carlos Branco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th minute of the match Pindai got a corner. H.Vianna Soccer Team's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dorian Dracena ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Amílton Martins managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Through an outstanding action, after 36 minutes, Zé Carlos Branco successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Oséas Messias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hudson Tepedino, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Hudson Tepedino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Oséas Messias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júnior Barral in the 46th minute of play forced Pindai's goalkeeper Oséas Messias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luiz Nunes to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Pindai's zone, Adhemar Motta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oséas Messias came out of the goal and Adhemar Motta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luiz Nunes's late challenge caught a H.Vianna Soccer Team's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luiz Nunes helped the player get up and apologised. Oséas Messias made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Júnior Barral sent off a good shot on target. In the 69th minute Luiz Nunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Carlos Branco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hudson Tepedino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oséas Messias having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Nunes in the 82nd minute of play forced H.Vianna Soccer Team's goalkeeper Zé Carlos Branco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 85 minutes into the match, Jairo do Nascimento had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zé Carlos Branco. H.Vianna Soccer Team's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jairo do Nascimento was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. H.Vianna Soccer Team's Zé Carlos Branco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Nunes in the 91st minute of play. Pindai's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
