Nicolas Amorim's late challenge caught a New City Caxias's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nicolas Amorim helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of New City Caxias booed when Tubibau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolas Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Rui Santana's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tomé de Almeida was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Ricardo Soares hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. New City Caxias's Lucas Carvalho got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jeferson Rosa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tomé de Almeida having to make a save. After 24 played minutes New City Caxias got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Soares. After a defensive mix-up in New City Caxias's zone, Jeferson Rosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomé de Almeida came out of the goal and Jeferson Rosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 31 minutes, Cipriano Galvão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the New City Caxias and the Tubibau players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to New City Caxias getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Cipriano Galvão hit a great ball. 32 minutes into the game, Ismael Carioca was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tubibau's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave New City Caxias the free kick. A collision led to Tubibau getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Ismael Carioca hit a great ball. Lucas Carvalho who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Vitório de Toledo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 39thth minute of the game Rui Santana who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but New City Caxias's Tomé de Almeida was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to New City Caxias getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Gernando de Almeida hit a great ball. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tubibau's goalkeeper Vitório de Toledo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gernando de Almeida stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gernando de Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rui Santana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomé de Almeida having to interfere. Vitório de Toledo came out of the goal and Gernando de Almeida tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tubibau's Jeferson Rosa got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 69 minutes, Lucas Carvalho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New City Caxias's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucas Carvalho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tubibau's Vitório de Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucas Carvalho in the 75th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Tubibau's Nicolas Amorim got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 77th match minute, New City Caxias was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tony Saraiva to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in New City Caxias's zone, Rui Santana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomé de Almeida came out of the goal and Rui Santana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gernando de Almeida struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Vitório de Toledo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for New City Caxias. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeferson Rosa in the 86th minute of play forced New City Caxias's goalkeeper Tomé de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomé de Almeida made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rui Santana in the 87th minute. Jeferson Rosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomé de Almeida having to interfere. New City Caxias succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Tubibau had controlled the match.
