Spectators: 7266 (Terracing: 5451, Seating: 1671, VIP seats: 144) Richard de Amorim started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Juarês Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palhoca's supporters rose to their feet, but Juarês Lara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Francisco de Medeiros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. João Francisco de Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Delfim Tróia in the 4th minute of the match. After 5 played minutes Luso Carioca got a freekick which was hit by Cipriano Amaral. In the 8th minute Delfim Tróia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Francisco de Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Richard de Amorim took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Nilmar Sergipano to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Palhoca booed when Luso Carioca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cipriano Amaral didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Luso Carioca's Cipriano Amaral got a free kick in the 28th minute. João Francisco de Medeiros came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Palhoca's Delfim Tróia. But to his dismay, Delfim Tróia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 36th minute Richard de Amorim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nilmar Sergipano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 43 played minutes Palhoca got a freekick which was hit by Kaká Bastos. After 45 played minutes, Luso Carioca's Evaristo Cardozo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nilmar Sergipano came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Luso Carioca reached it. After a rather tough play, Palhoca's Kaká Bastos got a free kick in the 46th minute. Luso Carioca's Richard de Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 49th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Delfim Tróia to make the kick off. In the 59th minute, Felippe Eger ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nilmar Sergipano was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After 64 minutes, Cipriano Amaral mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Luso Carioca and the Palhoca players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Luso Carioca's Cipriano Amaral got a free kick in the 64th minute. Delfim Tróia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. João Francisco de Medeiros made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kaká Bastos in the 68th minute. In the 69th minute, Pedro Paulo da Mata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Luso Carioca getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Cipriano Amaral hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Delfim Tróia in the 77th minute of play forced Luso Carioca's goalkeeper João Francisco de Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute, Delfim Tróia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Palhoca's Nilmar Sergipano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard de Amorim in the 84th minute of play. During the 91st minute of the match Richard de Amorim completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Richard de Amorim a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Luso Carioca getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Richard de Amorim hit a great ball. 94 minutes into the game, Kaká Bastos recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of João Francisco de Medeiros. Kaká Bastos showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-4. Albertinho Teles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilmar Sergipano having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Palhoca eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
