Valério Magalhães recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Real Madrid's Faustão Azevedo got a free kick in the 9th minute. Ediberto Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiaguinho Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Valério Magalhães put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Ediberto Amaral. When Tiaguinho Neves came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the godines bc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tiaguinho Neves couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Real Madrid getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Júlio Trigo hit a great ball. When Tiaguinho Neves came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the godines bc fans jumped to their feet. Ediberto Amaral made an important save on a dangerous shot by Valério Magalhães in the 32nd minute. Ediberto Amaral was a little too slow when Murilo de Salles got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 36th minute. The score was now 2-0. Valério Magalhães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Ediberto Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tiaguinho Neves to make the kick off. Real Madrid's Ediberto Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valério Magalhães in the 61st minute of play. If Nando Domingues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ediberto Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiaguinho Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. With a little luck, godines bc's Fernandão Sena got control of the ball when Nestor Correia tried to sneak it across the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Real Madrid players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for godines bc.
