Spectators: 6770 (Terracing: 5050, Seating: 1650, VIP seats: 70) Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Reynaldo Aguiar in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Laércio Novaes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Isaltino Mazza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 12 minutes, Sidnei Marques managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Garruchos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sidnei Marques was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Maktub's Cafu Salgado got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sidnei Pirani showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isaltino Mazza, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Reynaldo Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maktub's Sidnei Pirani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaltino Mazza in the 26th minute of play. After 27 minutes of play, Garruchos's Sidnei Marques made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sidnei Pirani was left in no man's land by his defense there! Isaltino Mazza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Sidnei Pirani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Laércio Novaes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cafu Salgado went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 42nd minute Isaltino Mazza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sidnei Pirani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Isaltino Mazza made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Garruchos's Laércio Novaes got control of the ball when Reynaldo Aguiar tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cafu Salgado in the 54th minute of play forced Garruchos's goalkeeper Laércio Novaes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cafu Salgado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laércio Novaes having to interfere. Laércio Novaes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cafu Salgado in the 60th minute of play. 62 minutes into the game, Reynaldo Aguiar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Laércio Novaes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Reynaldo Aguiar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isaltino Mazza in the 76th minute of play forced Maktub's goalkeeper Sidnei Pirani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Sidnei Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Alfredinho Galvão fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maktub's protests and gave Alfredinho Galvão a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Garruchos booed when Maktub was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredinho Galvão didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Garruchos supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Maktub's performance. The match ended with a win for Maktub.
