After a rather tough play, Guarulhos's Vitório Baptista got a free kick in the 11th minute. Rony Vaz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thomás Peres hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Alfredinho Massa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emílio Vidal having to interfere. Alexsandro Alves got in the 34th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Emílio Vidal handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Emílio Vidal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexsandro Alves, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. If Alexsandro Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 43 minutes into the match, Umberto Simão notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Guarulhos's Emílio Vidal. Emílio Vidal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 45 minutes, Thomás Peres mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Super Patos BR and the Guarulhos players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 46th match minute, Super Patos BR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomás Peres to maneuver through the defense. When Dedê Braga came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Guarulhos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dedê Braga couldn't finish the play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rony Vaz to make the kick off. After 51 played minutes Super Patos BR got a freekick which was hit by Kaká Baiano. Rony Vaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Geraldo Viana charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Geraldo Viana the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 59 minutes into the match, Super Patos BR's goal looked a bit too open when Dedê Braga came free, but Rafael Sarmento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dedê Braga took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rafael Sarmento. Rafael Sarmento dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. If Alexsandro Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dedê Braga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Sarmento having to interfere. A collision led to Guarulhos getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Wesley da Fonseca hit a great ball. 2-1 became the score in the 79th minute when Rony Vaz elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Super Patos BR's zone, Rony Vaz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafael Sarmento came out of the goal and Rony Vaz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thomás Peres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emílio Vidal having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexsandro Alves in the 90th minute of play forced Guarulhos's goalkeeper Emílio Vidal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 91 minutes into the match, Guarulhos's goalkeeper Emílio Vidal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Umberto Simão. Many of Super Patos BR's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Super Patos BR may have spent more time on the ball, but Guarulhos were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
