After a defensive mix-up in Vasco da Gama's zone, Francisco Botelho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osmar Barbosa came out of the goal and Francisco Botelho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Jailson Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 6 minutes, Francisco Botelho made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Vasco da Gama's Osmar Barbosa tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francisco Botelho in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Osmar Barbosa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kauan de Almeida in the 16th minute of play forced W7 FUTEBOL CLUBE's goalkeeper Vitinho Torres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute Francisco Botelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osmar Barbosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Osmar Barbosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Donatello, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Francisco Botelho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Osmar Barbosa. Vasco da Gama's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Francisco Botelho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Wellington Queiroz kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. If Francisco Botelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Vitinho Torres made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Frédson Meira sent off a good shot on target. Osmar Barbosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Botelho in the 43rd minute of the match. Francisco Botelho took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Osmar Barbosa. Osmar Barbosa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The wind increased when Kauan de Almeida made the kick off in the second half. If Francisco Botelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Osmar Barbosa was a little too slow when Durvalino Negri got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 0-4. Frédson Meira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 66 minutes into the game, Francisco Botelho lined in a short shot 0-5 behind a frustrated Osmar Barbosa. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kauan de Almeida in the 71st minute of play forced W7 FUTEBOL CLUBE's goalkeeper Vitinho Torres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vasco da Gama were furious when Marcelo Furtado was red carded, 75 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 75 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Vasco da Gama! In the 77th minute, W7 FUTEBOL CLUBE got a penalty, and Manuel Donatello placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. In the 80th minute, Jailson Vale got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of W7 FUTEBOL CLUBE booed when Vasco da Gama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernani Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manuel Donatello struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Osmar Barbosa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for W7 FUTEBOL CLUBE. The tension between the W7 FUTEBOL CLUBE and the Vasco da Gama players grew even worse after the yellow card. Durvalino Negri kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Osmar Barbosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Botelho in the 91st minute of play. When Vasco da Gama's Frédson Meira in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye W7 FUTEBOL CLUBE's goalie prevented a goal. 94 minutes into the game, Guilherme de Azevedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vasco da Gama's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave W7 FUTEBOL CLUBE the free kick. In the 93rd minute, one of Vasco da Gama:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Vasco da Gama. Osmar Barbosa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Manuel Donatello went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-7 was the resulting score. When the final whistle sounded W7 FUTEBOL CLUBE left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Vasco da Gama.
