José Carlos Pena was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. José Carlos Pena was a little too slow when Rodrigo Mazza got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 21st minute. The score was now 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodrigo Mazza in the 25th minute of play forced Mararupa F.C.'s goalkeeper José Carlos Pena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Ajax's Hortêncio Braga slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of José Carlos Pena. That made the score 4-0 after 26 minutes of play. After some careless play in the Mararupa F.C. defense, Rodrigo Mazza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José Carlos Pena. The Mararupa F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José Carlos Pena should have stopped the shot. Murillo Luz didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Mararupa F.C.'s Caco Rocha shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 5-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Mararupa F.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 39th minute, when Rodrigo Mazza scored to the left of an out of position José Carlos Pena, making the score, 6-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Fausto Zonta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ajax's supporters rose to their feet, but Fausto Zonta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Carlos Pena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. José Carlos Pena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodrigo Mazza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 6-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Caco Rocha made a kick off. Hortêncio Braga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but José Carlos Pena read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. In the 55th minute, Frederico Paraibano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José Carlos Pena was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-1. After having played for 57 minutes, Hortêncio Braga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ajax's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hortêncio Braga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. José Carlos Pena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Carlos Pena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hortêncio Braga in the 81st minute of the match. Rodrigo Mazza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 83 minutes into the game, Rodrigo Mazza cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 9-1. José Carlos Pena was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rodrigo Mazza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. José Carlos Pena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hortêncio Braga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Carlos Pena having to interfere. José Carlos Pena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruninho Dante in the 96th minute of the match. Rodrigo Mazza struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. José Carlos Pena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ajax. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Ajax had played much better football throughout.
