Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. If Luís Fabiano Bertassi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Cucuruto da Vovó getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Serafim Negri hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Raimundo Cardoso made a kick off. Ernani Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raimundo Cardoso in the 63rd minute of play. With 65 minutes on the clock, Cláudio Coelho commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 65 minutes into the game, one of Flamengo VM:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.
