An unexpectedly hard shot by Faustão Guedes in the 13th minute of play forced Apiaca SS's goalkeeper Laércio Sampaio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Apiaca SS getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Ediberto Lopez hit a great ball. In the 17th minute, Acácio Sabóia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
