Dig F.C's Edmílson Vides played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juninho Romero in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Designio FC's goal looked a bit too open when Régis Sá came free, but Olívio Schmidt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Designio FC's Olívio Schmidt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Designio FC from getting a goal against them. 22 minutes into the game, Waldir Quirino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Edmílson Vides was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Waldir Quirino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Designio FC's Waldir Quirino in the 62nd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Edmílson Vides was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Dig F.C through an amazing save. In the 64th minute of the match Denílson Maciel shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Olívio Schmidt showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Juarês Paes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Olívio Schmidt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Régis Sá managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dig F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Régis Sá was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Olívio Schmidt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dig F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diego Melo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
