Rio Preto F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 9 minutes, Felippe Silveira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rio Preto F.C. and the Dig F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. Luiz Fábio Araújo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 47 minutes into the game, Dig F.C's Juarês Paes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Juarês Paes made the kick off in the second half. Luiz Fábio Araújo made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Juarês Paes sent off a good shot on target. Fernandinho Freire charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fernandinho Freire the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Juarês Paess short, quick shot in the 89thth minute got Luiz Fábio Araújo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 91 minutes into the match, Rio Preto F.C.'s goalkeeper Luiz Fábio Araújo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juarês Paes. After a rather tough play, Rio Preto F.C.'s Ademir Montenegro got a free kick in the 94th minute. Juarês Paes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Dig F.C left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Rio Preto F.C..
