Fausto Matorin came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Londrina EC's Cipriano Freire. But to his dismay, Cipriano Freire quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Fausto Matorin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geovânio Machado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute, Cipriano Freire got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Josué Nogueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without César Botelho having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Londrina EC's zone, William Favoretto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. César Botelho came out of the goal and William Favoretto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 24th minute, Josué Nogueira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ursae Majoris fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

With his leg Fausto Matorin managed to avoid a goal in the 56thth minute, when Londrina EC's Cipriano Freire fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Nando de Sena's late challenge caught a Londrina EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nando de Sena helped the player get up and apologised. Nando de Sena kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. 61 minutes into the game, Sidney Amorim was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Londrina EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ursae Majoris the free kick.
